HVAC Technician

Pay Rate: $35 - $42/HR Hours: M-F 8am - 4:30pm with some voluntary OT/on-call Location: 90 Locust St, Hartford, CT

Overview of Work Environment/Client Nuances: Servicing a territory of Walgreens locations Launch from the candidate's home every day - approximately 20 - 30 mile radius around Hartford, CT CBRE will supply a work vehicle

Team Overview: Candidate will be working independently Resource's typical working day: Working on refrigeration and HVAC skills - Walk-in coolers and Freezers Calls are assigned and candidate will plan their own route based on need

Licenses/Certifications: Universal EPA license required Driver's License

Must Have Skills: Excellent refrigeration skills - Manager is looking for experience with refrigerant systems experience - Example of specific experience: candidate will need to be able to enter a broken walk-in freezer and know how to fix it. - Problem-solving is an essential part of this role and the candidate must be able to trouble-shoot and problem solve on their own. - Walk-in coolers and Freezers Great time management Organized

Nice to have skills: Electric skills Plumbing skills

Years of Experience: open to all levels of experience, but 3 years+ (refrigeration) is preferred Education h.s. diploma or GED Software skills: Tablet skills (iPad) Mobile platform email

About the Role: As a HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems at facilities by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You'll Do:

• Install, repair, adjust, and maintain small electric or pneumatic control systems used for building. This includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
• Conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine best course of action for equipment modifications.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You'll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid driver's license required.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
