Job Description Under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Assistant assists in providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit functions. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency (GED) with at least six months of experience working in a hospital setting. Completion of a recognized allied health course or six months of patient care experience in a health care setting (preferred). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first two weeks of hire and maintenance of current BLS (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent). American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification acceptable. Ability to work irregular hours, rotating shifts, and weekends.
