Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Montessori Directress to lead a classroom in accordance with the principles of the Montessori method. The Directress will be responsible for preparing and maintaining an orderly, attractive, and developmentally appropriate environment, guiding children’s growth through individual and group lessons, and fostering a peaceful, respectful classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain an inviting, clean, and purposeful Montessori environment.
Observe and assess each child’s development to individualize lessons.
Present Montessori materials in a sequential and developmentally appropriate manner.
Guide children in developing independence, responsibility, and critical thinking.
Establish a peaceful, respectful, and nurturing classroom culture.
Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, progress reports, and informal updates.
Collaborate with other faculty and staff in school-wide initiatives and events.
Participate in ongoing professional development and Montessori training.
Ensure compliance with state licensing, health, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
Previous Montessori classroom experience (preferred).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
Passionate about Montessori education and child development.
CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
