Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Policy Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) evolving mission related to Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) integration, Counter-UAS (C-UAS) operations, and National Airspace System (NAS) safety. This position plays a critical role in supporting policy development, regulatory analysis, security compliance, and operational assessments that enable the safe and secure integration of emerging aviation technologies.

 

The successful candidate will collaborate with FAA stakeholders, analyze complex operational and policy issues, develop executive-level briefings and presentations, and provide recommendations that inform leadership decisions. This role requires strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, along with the ability to translate technical and regulatory information into clear, actionable products for senior government officials, including FAA, Department of Transportation (DOT), and congressional audiences.

 

Job Description

• Support FAA policy and rulemaking for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations, related technologies, and associated business processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable policies, standards, and security best practices.
• Develop presentations that will be briefed to senior FAA, DOT, and congressional staff.
• Experience drafting/writing documents and presentations related to UAS and Counter UAS (C-UAS) operations in the National Airspace System (NAS)
• Support analysis related to UAS investigations, enforcement actions, policy, and training
• Prepare clear documentation, reports, and recommendations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Assist with monitoring, auditing, and maintaining security-related records and evidence as needed.

 

Requirements

• B.S or B.A. or 10+ years’ experience as a policy analyst in related field
• 2+ years of professional work experience
• Experience in security analysis, risk assessment, or a related analytical role.
• Strong understanding of security principles, controls, and common vulnerability management practices.
• Ability to evaluate information, identify patterns, and communicate findings clearly and professionally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical information for a variety of audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting UAS, aviation, aerospace, or transportation-related security activities.
• Experience working with government organization(s) developing policies at a national level
• Experience with law enforcement or security operations is a plus but not required
